About Gran Sur

Gran Sur is a band formed in Mexico City in late 2016 and comprised of musicians Iñaki Vázquez and Javier “Cha!” Ramírez (formerly of Fobia / Moderatto), vocalist Sofi Mayen and percussionist Elohim Corona. Their music fuses rock, electric guitars and synthesizers with traditional Mexican instruments and genres — such as jarana, bolero and norteña. They have performed at festivals across Mexico and internationally, including shows in Paris and at Vive Latino. Their live energy, blend of modern and traditional, and strong Mexican identity make them a compelling choice for festivals seeking a vibrant Latin-rock act.
